FAQ

Is this a cure for lymphedema?

Do I need medical clearance?

Is MLD painful?

Can you help with compression garments?

Can I come during an infection?

Because lymphedema can increase infection risk, cleanliness and skin awareness are essential. Cleveland Clinic notes that lymphedema may increase infection risk, and Mayo Clinic emphasizes protecting the affected limb from cuts, scrapes, burns, and skin injury.

The Contour Lymphedema Support Method

Gentle lymphatic care for daily confidence

Living with lymphedema can feel overwhelming — swelling, heaviness, tightness, skin sensitivity, garment routines, and daily self-care can affect how you move, dress, feel, and show up in your life. At The Contour Recovery Corp, our Primary & Secondary Lymphedema Support service is designed to provide calm, professional, medically mindful care in a private, polished wellness-suite setting. This service supports clients with primary or secondary lymphedema through gentle lymphatic techniques, swelling comfort care, skin-care awareness, compression education, and customized maintenance planning. This is not aggressive massage. This is not a quick spa service. This is not a replacement for medical care. This is refined, supportive lymphatic care designed with softness, structure, safety, and dignity.

Primary & Secondary Lymphedema?

Lymphedema is swelling that happens when the lymphatic system is not moving fluid properly. It may affect the arms, legs, trunk, face, neck, or other areas of the body. Cleveland Clinic notes that lymphedema can cause swelling, heaviness, tightness, skin changes, and increased infection risk. Primary lymphedema is usually related to rare inherited or developmental lymphatic conditions. Secondary lymphedema may occur when the lymphatic system is affected by surgery, lymph node removal, radiation, trauma, infection, or other medical factors. Lymphedema is considered a chronic condition. While it may not be cured, it can often be managed with the right plan, education, consistency, and provider-guided care.

A softer, structured approach to lymphatic care.

Our lymphedema sessions may include: Gentle Manual Lymph Drainage Vodder-style lymphatic support when appropriate Swelling and heaviness check-in Compression garment awareness Skin-care and infection-prevention education Self-care routine support Gentle movement guidance Maintenance planning Provider-instruction reminders Referral back to medical care when needed Complete Decongestive Therapy, often used in lymphedema care, commonly includes skin care, exercise, manual lymphatic drainage, compression bandaging, and maintenance with compression garments.

THE CONTOUR RECOVERY

The Contour Recovery Corp provides wellness, lymphatic, post-surgical, and recovery support services. Services are not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, wound care, cancer care, vascular treatment, physical therapy, emergency care, or treatment from a licensed healthcare provider. Clients must follow all instructions from their physician, certified lymphedema therapist, physical therapist, oncology team, vascular provider, surgeon, or healthcare team. Medical clearance may be required before services are performed. Services are not performed over open wounds, active infection, cellulitis, active drainage, suspected blood clots, unstable tissue, or areas requiring medical evaluation. For chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, fever, sudden severe swelling, infection symptoms, wound drainage, uncontrolled pain, or sudden worsening symptoms, seek medical care immediately. Individual experiences and results vary.

Why it stands apart

Its difference lies in the experience: professionally aware, medically appropriate in tone, and still delivered with warmth and elegance rather than a purely clinical feel.
